GOOGLE LOGO

Google has asked students in the United States in grades K-12 to design a logo aroud the theme ‘What if …?”. The Doodle 4 Google competition was open to all students in U.S. schools from kindergarten to grade 12. The winner was voted by the US public and an award ceremony for the 40 regional winners was held at the Googleplex in Mountain View.

The winning
logo
was done by Grace Moon (the girl featured in one of the photo) of
California called ‘Up in the Clouds’ and her logo was
used for Google’s logo art for a day.

These are the finalists in Grades
10-12
. Apparently some of these kids create better imaginative art than most
of us adults can do.

Childhood Fears by Joshua Hoffine shows grim images of children and their ultimate fears using impressive horror photographic art.
From the artist himself, ‘I believe that the horror story is ultimately concerned with the imminence and randomness of death, and the implication that there is no certainty to existence. The experience of horror resides in this confrontation with uncertainty. Horror tells us that our belief in security is delusional, and that monsters are all around us.’

These are Aurora photos taken by Ovar Atli during the winter in Iceland where he had been out at night enduring in freezing cold and often windy nights to take these fascinating shots. Auroras are also called the northern polar lights as it is only visible in the north sky from the northern hemisphere.
